How Much Raw Food Should Your Pet Eat?
Use this simple guide to estimate how much raw food your pet needs each day. Every animal is unique, so treat this as a starting point and adjust as needed.
Adult Dogs
Feed 2–3% of ideal body weight per day.
Example: A 20kg dog at 2% will eat 400g per day.
Puppies
Feed 6–10% of current body weight per day, split into 3–4 meals.
Example: A 5kg puppy at 8% will eat 400g per day.
Cats
Feed 2–4% of ideal body weight per day.
Example: A 4kg cat at 3% will eat 120g per day.
Adjusting Portions
- Increase portions if ribs are very visible, weight is dropping, or energy is low.
- Reduce portions if weight gain is too fast or stools become consistently soft.
